Founded in 1977, Lei Cheng Uk Nursery School is a non-profitable school run by the Hong Kong Christian Services. It has excellent teaching facility including two Montessori classrooms, two regular classrooms, one physical and multi-arts room, one music room, and one library.

 

Our school advocates and stresses on Montessori Education and we value children’s potentials in different aspects.  Under this educational program, our children learn in the daily lives, sensory, mathematical, language, cultural and artistic areas, in which through practical teaching aids, will bring and show the abstract concepts to the children. Through Montessori education, children can strengthen their multi-sensory functions, independence ability and self-motivation, and also develop their sense of discipline and concentration. Their inquisitive spirit is induced by participation in taking care of different small animals in school, doing planting and nourishing plants, joining field trips and ecological and scientific exploration activities. Their determination to seek for knowledge are encouraged through the observation and exploration of nature. At the same time, thanks to our moral and green education, children are inspired to respect and appreciate the beauty of nature and to cherish and care for the environment.

 

Our children develop interest and correct attitude while learning language, acquire language skills through programmatic activities such as singing, reading, and sharing of daily news, which can cater the language requirements of the children in everyday life and in their growth. The students’ ability in applying Cantonese, Mandarin, and English language are enhanced through a rich and diverse English-learning environment, and through interactions with English native-speaking teachers.
